Avenal to Bishop Passing Mt. Whitney
This was my second successful attempt at getting to the High Sierra from the Central Coast Ranges and passing Mt Whitney in a glider. Two ambitious pilots, Morgan Hall and I, in his Duo Discus, 5H, making the best of average good conditions for achieving a 'Round the Horn' flight. Although the goal was the PASCO Egg at Air Sailing north of Reno, NV, we achieved most the critical elements of the flight. With a couple more hours, Air Sailing would have been reachable; i.e., a slightly better/earlier conditions at start. Morgan elaborates on teh flight in prose and pics here: http://landseaandsky.blogspot.com/
